A Start to the Holiday Season Weekend

This past weekend Ron and I went over to Leavenworth with his parents for the Tree Lighting and some major shopping (with a few results).  To start off the extravaganza weekend we went to the Bellevue  Botanical Gardens exhibit of Garden d’Lights.

These displays are flower theamed, and made by volunteers over the past decade.  Here’s a frog & its Reflection.

Saturday morning we headed over Stevens Pass to the mountain-Bavarian town of Leavenworth.  My parents honeymooned here for this event 21 years ago, and this is the first time I’ve been (as an adult, I vaguely remember this as a child, and sledding down the hill).

We had a picture taken with a huge bear.

Here’s the town all lit-up.

The Christmas tree, in color for the first time ever.  Apparently Bavarian tradition calls for all white lights…but they had to switch to LED’s, so a color tree was born.

We had a wonderful weekend.  I bought a few products, some things to craft and a few decorations.  I bought the cutest owl, Dr. Who at Garden d’lights, a paint can of bells, and some tasty strawberry vinegar.   Thanks to Jenny & Troy for watching Rogan for the weekend.

So fun! I love Levenworth. I’ve never been at Christmas as an adult either & I really had no clue our parents honeymooned there, How weird is that, Learn something new everyday.
